Recognized as the world's largest resin casting, 10 tons of Crystal Clear resin were cast in a single pour to create "The Fourth Plinth" sculpture for London's Trafalgar Square.

Crystal Clear 220

Crystal Clear is water white clear heat cure resin system and made specifically for applications that require absolute clarity. This rigid urethane mold casting resin is a harder version of out popular Crystal Clear Series resins and cures to a Shore 85d. Cured castings are highly UV Resistant (resists yellowing due to ultra-violet light exposure) and are not brittle. Vibrant colors and color effects are achieved by adding pigment dispersions. Applications include encapsulation, making prototype models, lenses, sculpture reproductions, decorative cast pieces, jewelry, special effects and props. One project involved casting ten tons in one pouring for the London Plinth project.

CAUTION: NOT FOR HOME USE. THIS PRODUCT IS FOR INDUSTRIAL USE ONLY. Proper ventilation, a NIOSH Approved Respirator and Protective Clothing (gloves and long sleeves) are required to minimize the risk of inhalation and dermal sensitization. If breathing is affected or a dermal rash develops, immediately cease using this product and seek medical attention. Read MSDS before using.

Feather Lite

Feather Lite is a new heavily filled low-density urethane mold casting resin. Cured plastic is lightweight (it floats in water!) and has much lower density than other casting resins. Feather Lite features a convenient 1A : 1B by volume mix ratio and mixes easily (pre-mixing of parts A & B is necessary). Cured plastic is strong and can be carved, machined, drilled, sanded, etc. Feather Lite can be pigmented with SO Strong color tints prior to casting and finished castings can be painted.

And because this product is low-density, it yields more plastic per pound/kg. than other resins, the cost per casting is low.

Feather Lite can be used for a variety of art or industrial design related applications including reproducing sculpture, making fishing lures, prototype model making, casting doll heads and figures, etc.

TASK Series Plastics

TASK Plastics is a new generation of performance urethane mold casting resins that offer superior physical properties compared to out popular Smooth-Cast line of general purpose casting resins.

TASK Plastics feature convenient mix ratios, low viscosities, high tensile a flexural strength, as well as high flexural modulus. These plastics were formulated for a variety of industrial applications including pattern making, making prototype models and making high impact solid or rotational castings (TASK 15). TASK Plastics are moderately priced and are available in trial kits, one gallon, five gallon, 55 gallon drum and tote units.

URE-BONDtm II

URE-BONDtm II is a premium performance urethane adhesive compound that offers a strong flexible bond between many different surfaces. Industrial applications for this adhesive are endless because it is a superior bonding agent for adhering polyurethane rubber and other polymer products to many types of substrates (such as plaster, wood, cement, stone) and non-porous materials (such as glass, hard plastics and a variety of metals).

URE-BONDtm II has also been used to repair torn polyurethane molds on a limited basis (with proper surface preparation). Once mixed and applied, URE-BOND II takes about 12 minutes to cure and yields a strong, flexible bond.

Plasti-Pastetm

Plasti-Pastetm is a new two component fiber resin that is designed for vertical surface application. Part A is a liquid and Part B is a paste. Mix ratio is 1A : 3B by volume. It has no odor and pot life is 8 – 10 minutes depending on mass. Demold time (can be handled) is about 90 minutes depending on mass.

Plasti-Pastetm holds a vertical surface without sagging and cures to a strong, durable and lightweight plastic. Suitable as a mother mold / support shell (reinforces shape of rubber mold during casting), or as a laminating material. Can be pigmented with So-Strong color tints from Smooth-On. Add cabosil or other filler as an extender or for special effects.
